Yuzhno-Kurilsk (Russian: Ю́жно-Кури́льск; Japanese: 古釜布, romanized: Furukamappu) is an urban locality (an urban-type settlement) and the administrative center of Yuzhno-Kurilsky District of Sakhalin Oblast, Russia. Population: 5,832 (2010 Russian census);[2] 5,751 (2002 Census);[7] 6,344 (1989 Soviet census).[8] It is the largest settlement on the Kunashir Island of the Kuril Islands.

The Mitsubishi Type 89 IFV (三菱89式装甲戦闘車, Mitsubishi 89-shiki sōkō-sentō-sha)(89 FV ) is a Japanese infantry fighting vehicle that entered service with the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force in 1989.
